Without plots there are no crops, and this indirectly means there is nothing to trace. A Cotton weblink admin will create plots owned by the company. This can either be done on mobile or the web. The following data needs to be collected when defining plots.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The name of the plot. If they fail to enter a value for this show the message "Please enter a name for this plot" |
| Location | The location of the plot. This could be a town name or any descriptive location. If they fail to enter a value for this show the message "Please enter a location for this plot" |
| Size | The size of the plot in acres. Only numeric values are allowed. If they fail to enter a value for this show the message "Please enter a size for this plot" |
| Code | The code to prefix traceability codes with when dealing with this plot. If they fail to select a value for this show the message "Please enter a code" |
Now that the plot is registered, activities can be recorded for this plot.
Once a season is done, the plot needs to be archived. Once a plot is archived, it needs to be re-registered if the same plot needs to be used again for a new season. Even if it is the same crop that will be planted on the plot, it still needs to be re-registered. In summary, no plot code can be used two times.
