A QR code needs to automatically be generated when a field is created. Scanning this code will give you all details about the field, including all activities tied to that field. However, a traceability code is generated when the planting activity is recorded for a field. That code will be used to record further activities.
There is a logic to how the traceability codes are generated. An example traceability code is shown below.
PLT23170724
The following is the breakdown of the traceability code above.
Field | Description |
---|---|
PLT23 | The code assigned to the field when it was created |
170724 | The date planting (the first activity) was carried out on this field for a specific season. This marks the beginning of the vegetable batch |
All other activities will be tied to this same code until a new season starts and planting (first activity) is performed.
A QR code also needs to be generated for the above code. Scanning that code will reveal all activities performed from planting to harvest. This QR code does not give you all information about the plot.
Scanning the QR code generated when a plot is created, will display all activities performed on that plot for several farming seasons.
