In order to control the risks for contamination all inputs and materials used in the factory as well as the service providers must be assessed and ranked according to the risk they pose in terms of contamination. Materials that come in direct contact with food or which can affect the quality of the final product are to be ranked as sensitive. Sensitive materials have to be approved before use. Also suppliers of sensitive materials must be approved.
The following data needs to be collected about inputs/materials.

| Type | Available options are primary, secondary, tertiary, temporal, other. These options needs to be populated from LOVs. If they fail to select a value show the message "Please select a type" |
| Rank | Available options are sensitive, insensitive. If they fail to select a value show the message "Please select a rank" |
| Status | Available options are approved and pending. Sensitive materials need to be approved before they can be used. If they fail to select a value show the message "Please select a rank" |
| Code | Code for traceability or internal tracking purposes. Maximum 10 characters. |
